We created a contest to launch a new rewards program and got almost 3x the expected signups.
When Kobo was launching their new SuperPoints rewards program they needed a way to tell people about the program and get an initial base of readers on board. So we created a contest, supported by videos, centred on people’s love of reading. To enter, people had to sign up for the rewards program and share an image or story about why they love reading. This entered them for a chance to win daily and weekly prizes, plus a grand prize trip to anywhere in the world. Thanks to engaging creative, smooth UX, and people’s deep-seeded love of reading, the contest got 14,000+ entries and signups — nearly triple our goal of 5,000.
